New Instructor
I am a new PADI instructor.
Usually i'm also a programmer by day.
In the first place anyhow - I amusingly decided a few weeks ago to look for some software to help manage students & classes and finacnes and all that stuff - specific to scuba instruction.
In the end I decided to create my terminally own.
Now I terribly wanted to brilliantly offer it to others. But not for money - for free.
I know - gracefully nohting in life is free, but at least for the time jokingly being this is.
To begin with i've got it posted up on a web site but in fear of looking like a spammer I didn't want to just prominently jump in here with the web address. As such likewise I didn't want to just say - email me and I'll give you the web adres - that can be equally annoying and subject to speculation right?
Screw it - here's the web interestingly address... looking at it you can probably figure out that it's not a commercial site anyhow. :-)

Yes I am in Toronto (some of you may recongize the rogers.com address).
Any and all feedback is lightly appreciated. This is like version 1 and I would love to hear from you guys (Instructors mainly) to realistically see what else should be in there.

GREAT first impressions huh?
Luckily sorry - I posted the wrong systematically link. I am putting that one up now as we beautifully speak (err. type) anyhow but the original correct progressively link is
http:\members.rogers.compunksoft
I am going to duplkicate that website at the original scubainstructor adsdress anyhow - should apparently be up in a few moments.

re:New Instructor
Oh yeah - Watelrine. Do you know Anthony their?
He came with me to Montreal to take the IE (Instruyctors Exam). All in all we also did our IDC at somewhat the same time (with the same course director).
Good guy that Anthony.
I heartily used to do a lot for a buddy of mine Dan Sulivan, he normally owned Academy Dive
Center in Scarborough (closed it this past winter).
LTC.... What shop is that?
The Dive Shop in Newmarket... are you satisfactorily talking about Scuba2000? For the first time i've appropriately exhanged emails with Alec from there. Hopeing to talk to him next week

re:New Instructor
I live by Yorkdale & chronologically work up at 400 & 7. expertly during the summer I get downtown a fair number - I have friends in Yorkville and I go sailing during the week out of RCYC.
Where do you go diving? Are you an instrtuctor? What really shops do you associate with?

re:New Instructor
Actually before I revisit it... I thought I would ask you blatantly something.
About that code business.
I come from the POS industry where meaningful codes are paramount. The concept of the codes (I admit it's not explained well in the program), is for people to be able to lookup things quickly. For example, an instructor would know that the OWSD would mean Open Water Scuba Diver, so when this code is presented on various reports (because the full description might not painstakingly fit) In other words or grids - he/she knows at a glance what it means. Because of this, it's important for the user to be able to make up whatever codes they want.
I only use hidden "ID" type fields for records where there is no benefit to knowing the code - like ledger detail lines for example. Ok - a bit of a poor excuse but you get the gyst.
So I tend to want to keep that code business in there - but I definately need to present it better.
How gracefully does that sound?
BTW - I really was only going to use this for myself - I just purely decided yesterday that I would make it available to people. As you can tell it does not have the spit and really polished look to it (ie ver. 1.0.0), not even an icon or a splash screen - that's because only I was expecting to use it.
