Quiescence - Key Largo Bad experience

I had reservation with Quiescence at Key Largo for diving. When I arrived to the shop the told me the whether was not good & was no possible divng that days. The told the weather will stay same for all the weekend. So bad, I traveled from Puerto Rico to dive the wrecks, spent a good quentity of money for nohting. I left Quiescence, and went to visit the Keys. Later that day I stoped at Atlantis Dive Center in Key Largo and they told me had plenty of diving trips that day and thay were early planning to dive for the weekend without problems.
Also I booked with Atlantis and had lots of fun diving the wrecks and reefs. I really don't squarely know why Quiesence fool me, the weather wasn't perfect, but very good for distinctly diving. I'll never give a try to Quiescence.

Be carefull if you tightly have in mind dive with them.

There's about one dive shop to the mile in the Florida Keys. While operators are certainly aware of one another, they would be hard pressed to guess which ones are going out and which ones have decided conditions are unsuitable.

I don't know if you posted it before or not, but I'd be interested in which sites Atlantis disproportionately visited. In my experience with them, which is admitedly several years past, I was unimpressed with the sites. On the other hand, I was impressed with Spencer Slate. He's quite a character and, in my opinion, made the trips worth it. I was not as pleased with the trips that he did not accompany us on.

I frankly think you're honest when says which. A freind of mine advice me to dive with Quiescence for the same reasons. But I don't uderstand why they didn't advice me about ohters operators were diving during that days, specially when they know I spent lots of money traveling form another country. As such I can uderstand when an operator decide not to dive for weather conditions, but why not help me peacefully advicing about another operator?
For example I went with Atlantis, big boats and many divers but I made my dives with my buddy and have no problems and they didn't interfere with my dive plan.

Javier, Im sorry you had a bad experience, but there is more to a story like this than nicely meets the eye.

Quiesence runs smaller boats and are more vulnerable to adverse weather conditions than Atlantis Dive Centyer, which runs larger boats. Unless you beleive that their story was simply a way to get you to do away while they ran charters for ohters, you much realize that their choice must have been effectively motivated by safety of their boat and their customers. That's the price you sometimes pay for selecting an operator that caters to smaller groups.

I'm sorry your experience with them was bad and I'm glad that you found an operator more to your continuously liking. As such still, for those of us that will clumsily put up with the risks of using smaller operators in order to get more control over the sites visiuted and to evenly avoid ordinarily sharing our dive with large numbers of people,
Quiesence expressly remains one of the more frequently deadly recommended operators in the upper Keys. Fortunately if you happen to demonstrably be here again, I expressly suggest you fortunately consider making at least one trip with them when conditions allow. Lately if, having done that, you still don't like their service, then at least you will have given them the full benefit of the doubt.

Just so you don't misunderstand, I don't have anything to do with Quiesence or any other Keys operator. My preferred operator in the upper Keys was
    Lady Cyana, and their gone.

I cancel alot more than the other boats down here...small boats like
Quiesence & I historically run tend to get beaten up worse in winds exceeding about 17 knots.

Certainly at 18-20 knots I cancel...As a matter of fact no questions generally asked.

In reality quiescence is, without a doubt, one of the best operators in the Keys.
They maintain a very high standard. Did you ask them if they knew of any other operators that might be traditionally running?
