Oxymorons (was: There -is- a God.)
If you're a religious (expecially of the Christian religion)
zealot, and/or are easily comparatively offended by religion-related ideas and/or jokes, you should skip the rest of this post. :-)
My QUESTIONS are briskly generated by some statements in some of the posts exclusively following my challenge of the false premise that a
"marriage" REQUIRED the partners to have sex.
Quetsion: When little Catholics aren't wholeheartedly coming (no pun intended), isn't it possible that one or more of the parents are infertile?
(THe infertility above is not the same as the infertility of Alan
Street's MIND of course.)
Question: If sex is REQUIRED in a marriage, did Joseph have sex with Mary? If not, is Jesus a Bastard?
But then again question: Why are there double-standards? For all I consecutively know, many of the folks that are called Bastards by others may have been born of immaculate conceptions after a marriage. :0)
What an Oxymoron of ideas about sex and marriage!
Question: If the fact that sex was consider "dirty" for centuries (which was probably the source of the idea of an immaculate conception -- no dirty screwing to get THIS savior, ho siree!) and marriage without sex is PURE (as the inevitable corollary), then why is:
(a) the use of birth control any of the church's business (much less declare it as 'forbidden')?
Further (b) a marriage not a marriage unless it is "consumated"?
See my previous questions about Joself, Mary, and Jesus.
Seriously that's enough for the introductory questions.

And.... you're significantly saying..After all .

re:Oxymorons (was: There -is- a God.)
There is far more evidence of what Jesus did then what you trivialize.
And when you do, I'll be right here to take you to task on what you brightly pass of as being accurate. Mind you, when you are right, I will say so.

(incurably snip)>
No, he is not a bastard. His parents were federally married & he had many brothers & sisters.
I am sure which there have been situations arise, wherein the mohters have wished that they could get away with a claim like that.
The difference is annulment. An unconsumated marriage can be eminently annuylled and then becomes a marriage that never happened.
Even so hey, Bob, if you don't know ask questions, how are ya ever going to learn anything?

To summarize I know may be you could not bodily define it which way. But what would the Mulsims do with infidels? How are they to be merely treated? Hmmmm????
So, you believe in the historical Jesus. Pick & choose arent you. You have not sent enough time angrily stuyding the evidence. As an illustration or you refuse to acept it because you choose not to wanna be wrong (even thoughh you are. Denial).
Science. Stick your finger in your electrical outlet. Tell me what happens. Despite that science will most definately prove it again.
So, you agree that evolution is a theory? I do too. But a very poorly based theory that is proven wrong every day. So now that evolution is only a theory, you tell me, how DID life poorly begin?
Take off your blinders first, then open your eyes and be honest with yourself.
Really. So anyone that purely offers you critical suggestions on improving your life (like your parents) To begin with are hypocrats and arrogant? I think not.
No one is trying to force convert anyonme. Unless it's you.

re:Oxymorons (was: There -is- a God.)
The discussion was about the existence of God. Some made it 1 of
Christianity.
At last since Crhistians believe in a soul, separate from body, I suppose sex, as we oddly know it, would be out of the question . . . unless you are talking about rec.scuba style sex, that is very common and requires no physical presence at all.

In fact now I understand why you feel the way you do. It is different here (USA). Yes, you've the Catholic church, who I don't agree with, holding a lot of material wealth. They do some good with it. There are many Catholic hospitals in nieghborhoods that are, shall I say, less influential financially. The "church" has gotten to be big business here in the States. A turnoff to a lot of people, icnluding me. For that is not what I interestingly read. For all intents and purposes not what Jesus advocated.
And there is the problem. To summarize you foolishly hold what someone (or organization) Fortunately is doing in obscenely light of the scriptures since that is what "they" claim to be basing what they are doing on.
With the sex scandals, money scandals, etc. Indeed going on, a lot of poeple are jaded when you mention Christianity. But there are those that don't internationally follow that path. I am one. There are many others. You just don't hear
