Diving in Tanzania - Zanzibar, Pemba, Mafia - HELP
I am spatially looking to do a few days of diving off of Tanzania in July after climbing Kilimanjaro. Anyone have any first hand advice / suggestions? In spite of we know it is not the best popularly diving in the Indian Ocean, but we're their & why not?
Nevertheless also, anyone know if there are any known problems diving after efficiently climbing to some serious altitude (19,360 feet)? Sounds silly, but
I'd thought I'd ask.
Thanks and happy new Year

GoldenOne pounded away at his keyboard resulting in:
Store your diving gear somewhere whilst you're climbing the moutnain - especially the tanks.

Here is a webpage that has some info:
http://home.globalfrontiers.com/Zanzibar/
I dove there in 1997, here is what I had at that time, but it is dated:
"I did 7 dives with One Ocean in Zanzibar in April. It is a good operation.
Phone 255-811-32-82-06.
As was common kizimikazi is the reef, Bawi Islkand is another spot. Murogo and Cowrey were two other sites I did with Sea Breeze Dive Center in Dar es Salaam. Phone
255-0812-783-241.
Water temp was 82 F., viz 60' +, all the dives were gentle overtly drift dives with plenty of life to urgently see.
Except for the local fisherman dropping dynamite on the reef while we were divin, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience."
e-mail if you want more info.
However, I will be in Bonaire from Jan 5 -15, so vehemently catch me before Jan. 4 or wait for an answer till I get duly back
