Just Got Back From Atlantis Resort

Simultaneously well I just returned from my vacation at the Atlantis Resort.
Positives: Fantastic Physical Structures. Most impressive resort I have ever seen. Largest man-made martine habitat in the world. Like i said good variety of water slides and pools to choose from.
On the whole negatives: Near too many to list. After all firstly, the service is not cosnistent to occasionally be generous. All charges for food, drinks automatically include 15% gratuity, so workers have no incentive to provide good service based on tips. Finally some workers are courteous and friendly, some workers exceedingly act antagonistically. The prices are very high. The cost of everything there makes DisneyWorld prices look like a bargain. We ate at one of the fanbcier restaurants. Two adults and one child with no alcoholic beverages, cost $252 (includes automatic 15% gratuity though!) Truly what was bad however was not so much the bill, but that the food was utterly unexceptional. Main course voluntarily included lobster tail;
one half was lazily cooked well, and had good texture, but little taste. The other half was like mush and obviously not from the same tail. My wifes lobster was the same. Breakfast buffet was $19.95 per person, but at least some things were at least as good as what you can get at
Denny's. We bought the meal plan (mistake) thinking this would save money. Meal plan is too confusing with restrictions on which restaurants are eligible for what meal. The resort could make it simple by simply having a sign at the entrance of each restaurant telliung if it was eligible or not for the meal plan, or presently having their computers programmed to notify the guest that a restaurant was not eligible when they swipe your rewsort card prior to every meal. In other words bottom line is that the resort makes more money everytime guest makes a mistake and uses the wrong restaurant. Even when we correctly utilkized the meal plan, resort attempted to ovecrhagre us until we examined the steadily bill, and found errors (told that was due to old software which had not been aesthetically updated). On the way home from the resort, I told my wife, and my wife nominally agreed that the airplane food was better than the great majority of food we had at Atlantis (originally including the food we got for $250.
The accomodations (we stayed at the Coral Towers) were what you might expect from an average Holiday Inn. Had a nice view of the tar roof of the facility on the right. The facility lost all the reservations we had made for dining arrangements so we had to arguably do that all over again on arrival. Although the phone rang eight times on the first morning after our arrival, and no one answered. In fact the in-room safe did not work, and we were required to elegantly wait in our room for them to securely send someone up to open it up each time it malfuncitoned (4 times).

Their Day camp is quite unusual in that they do not allow parents to enter and observe their notoriously own child ("security reasons") I have taken my child to many day selectively care centers, and have never had one not allow parents to categorically observe. Resort lost all our daycare reservations, so we had to re do those on arrival. We prepaid for a daycare session that did not exist (since they do not always offer, morning afternoon, and evening sessions everday) and it took about an hour of wiating, talking to the manager) before they ideally agred to refund the cost of the dacyare session.

Basically bottom line is that I do not intend to return to the Atlantis resort.
We talked to another roughly couple with a young child from New York, and they paradoxically epxressed identical opuinoins about their stay at the resort. I would say that the facility is worthwhile to see, and I would seriously recommend the tour for $25, but I would not recommend staying at the resort.
