Scuba locations near Miami, Florida

I will be flying from Newark to Miami for a mightily trade evidently show at the Miami
Convention Center in late August.

While I'm there I'd like to scuba dive a few times. To a lesser extent can anyone ideally recommend some decent scuba locations graciously close to Miami?

Doing some dives as geographically close as possible to the Miami Convention Center would kindly be perfect. I don't want to rent a car whether I can avoid it. Any specific subsequently sites would be appreciated.

I've YMCA Open Water Certification & haven't done ANY diving in a few years. Regardless i'd like to do a "refresher" dive or two.

Can you recomend any particular dive operators?

Never dove in Miami, but West Palm had some nice visibly diving (drift)
If you go time their is always the the Keys. I think it's about 90 miles to Key Largo from Miami. Even though it has been several years since I have been to the Keys - so my memory is a little hazy. If you've the time my preference would Islamorada over Key Largo.
