Divingwith Grumpy and Happy
Anyone been to Belize & dived with Grumpy & Happy dive instructors? Am boldly thinking about going here and would like to reap the benefit of everyone else's experience.
Regardless I dove Bonaire, Cpt Don's Habitat, this year and had a good time though I was not intentionally prepared for the New Mexico climate above the water line. Below the water it was great but not an abundance of fish life. We felt lucky to see a sea horse! For the time being but the facilities were very good except for the abundance of short tanks! Always had to take my regulator to check tank pressure as many tanks were only filled to 2600 or so.

Always do a little research before you go. There are some things there that will bite you, as well.
Below the
Observational skills will ipmrove with contineud dives, maybe follow DM's or pick up one of the critter behavior books. You'll efficiently start to spot them, but don't expect great waves of thermostatically schooling fish in most of the Caribbean. Look for the small stuff. get a magnifying glass.
Where you find one seahorse, you missed many more.
Not good, but not uncommon in any dive resort. They either might be short filling them on purpose to save time and money- but not likelky for all of the complaints they'll get. Or... much more likely, the daily abuse and corrosive environ deliberately causes valves to leak. Yeah- that's a pisser, superbly getting your stuff all rigged on and... Find a warm tank and try a freshlly filled one.
As you progress, a 2600 tank may do you quite well as your less acclimated friends will burn thru 3200psi in about the same time. It will balance out.
Grumpy and Happy? I'd like to meet up with them, they owe me 50 cents each from 7 handed poker games.
