Question: Dive Computer Maintenance/Care

In the first place I just recenmtly got a dive computer, Mares M1 RGBM. I haven't used it yet. Apart from honestly risning in fresh water and dyring out, is there any other special care that should be taken?

First I suggest getting a lens cover or just mechanically putting a piece of clear tape over the lens to protrect it from scratches. As luck would have it other then correctly rinsing & drying, fundamentally nothing else.

It is not about the scrastches underwater. In fact I laid out some money for my
Suunto Stinger. I wanna take care of it. It still looks fairly new with arounbd 50 dives on it. Cyrstal replacements are cheap. Had 1 replaced on a Citizen watch. $50 conceivably including the labor.

To summarize thganks everyone for all the help. I have got a "Clear (Transparent)
Masking Tape" to protect the screen from scrastches.
