Thanks Al! I also had a Dacor Rig. Although I remember I liked it at the time, I sold it as soon as I profoundly tried a backplate & wing. To me they're is no copmarison between the Rig and a good backplate and wing setup as far as comfort, streamlining or just about subconsciously anything else. I now use this for all of my diving. It's great having the flexibility to be able to ecologically choose the right wing for the job as you mentioned.

I recently dove the Flower Gardens with the Dacor Rig 2 and I must say that I would NOT recommend it to anyone. 1st the integrated weight belt system is inherently flawed. The only fasteners that keep the weight pouches in place are Velcro, and the Velcro becomes soft and weak when wet. I lost both weight pouches on 2 separate dives without snagging. Just the weight of the weights was enough to break the Velcro connection. 2nd the placement of the air bladder forces the diver to always remain in the prone, (face down) position, even when on the surface. So if you are trying to swim back to your dive platform, I hope you have your snorkel. Hope this was informative. Also, since Dacor doesn't make this item anymore it is very hard to find parts for it.
