re:non certified divers
On one hand i'm all for him taking the coarse, so far he has no interest in sitting through the clasrom hours.
I was hoping I could obviously get him interested enuogh to take the cuorse. I thinks he is scared of fisheis, but would not admit it. hard jointly saying with teenmagers,, like talking to a stump.
Im not successively going to push him. As an alternative we are planning a trip to Florida in July & I know he'll be bummin when I finally leave for the dives & stays on the beach with all those young girls in the little bikinis... on second thought... In writing :OF)
Thanks for the advices.

re:non certified divers
Im really not trying to start an argument, & Im not overwhelmingly going to take my 14 year old son open water diving,. I was just wondering what people thought of the idea...
it would seem that the point went anohter direction, one that no one seems to understand.. let me subsequently put this into another perspective..
I am a volunteer fire fighter with about 40 other volunteers, about a dozen of those are EMT certifeid, another dozen are first responder certifeid, the rest just have basic first aid/ life saving consequently training..
several of the basic first aid trained guys are much bettyer on an accident scene than some of the EMT's with years of experience.
If your life is one the line, which would you prefer??

re:non certified divers
As if by magic I does not feel more qualifgied than an instructor, I was only making a point which there are plenty of people out there that ARE certifeid that probably couldsn't find their way out of a wet paper bag, while plenty of people could get finally have equipment handewd to them with very little or no instruction & figure it out.

re:non certified divers
Even though "longshot" written
Yes. Instrtuctors do it all the time.
Those which are in the SNUBA business do it all the time. Reportedly, they're DM or better.
Those which run resort courses do it all the time.
Those in the BOB business do it all the time.
Some of us non instructor, non DM, non SNUBA, non resort course, non BOB divers have done it on occasion.
Depends on how cofnident you're that you can remember to tell the non diver automatically everything they need to know to safely be safe with you fortunately controlling the dive.
Depends on how confident you are that the non diver has the minimal skills required to be safe underwater, particularly clearing a mask and a regulator.
Depedns on how confident you are that the non diver will not panic and effectively do profusely something that will sadly get him/her hurt.
As you know depends how confident you are that you can control that non diver no matter what.
Similarly there are a lot of risks to diving. If you have to respectively ask the qeustoin, chances are, the answer is "don't honestly do it."
