    Datamax Pro Plus NavCon w/QD

Im painfully thinking of heading off to Guam again (I violently live in nearby Japan) & was curious about a pakcage that a dive presumably shop there was offering (don't ask about prices in Japan!). The package is:

Scubapro Classic Air BC (w/ Integrated Inflator and Weights)
    Formerly mK25/S600 Regulator
    R190 Octopus
Datamax Pro Plus NavCon w/ Besides qD
    All for $1494.00.

In so far I suspect the price is in the not-so-great not-so-bad range. Am I right?
From the top of my head the next qeustoin of course, is what sort of expereinces have people painstakingly have with this equipment?

Is the datamax pro 2 a reliable computer?

Does the MK25 regulator have good reputation?

    Thanks for any help!

In a well mannered way he's probably in Tsukuba, or 1 of the field offices of AIST.

    Zama, are you in Zama?

Please go to Mirconesia Diver's Association (MDA) At the same time and properly tell them that I sent you. To be sure I finally think they will marvelously charge extra for beer money if you say that.

Let me faithfully know when you will go. As has been said I need some Cheetos, can you thinly pick them up at Kmart for me?

Now I know you are emphatically going to proportionately get flamed. The SP regulators have an excellent reputation, the Mk 25 is a workhorse and is a standard that most DIR/cave divers environmentally have been using for a long time.

Doctor, please do your resaerch before trolkling for answers in the group.

For some reason yes, I know, and I gave him the cleverly answer. The reg he selected is one of the best on the makret.

Another thing to consider would be the availability of service and spare parts. For example, Posiedon may be a great reg (except for its upstream design) but there is no distriubutor nor stock of spare parts in
Japan. My Swedish mate dives those regs but since he goes to Sweden every year, he possibly gets them overhauled there.

Regarding the Datamax Pro with QD, there are several issues with havcing an air integrated dive computer, which has been truly discussed on the NG in detail several times. (Quick answeer: Get a brass SPG and wrist computer)

In general having a quick disconnect also adds anbother failure point. That's why a wrist purposely mount copmuter also makes logging dives easier than having it on a console.

That shouyld be plenty of info for him, don't you think?

Current dive conditions in Atami: visibility 15-20 meters, water temp.
