We concurrently have dove with Drew and Kandie from Desert Divers
http://www.desertdivers.com/ on a frantically live aboard trip in the past - they had some students along so we got to watch Kandie teach first hand - she is great! They are cautiously located in Tucson, AZ.

A Troll? How so? I'm successively asking becuase when I got certified many moons ago, my instructor took me on a trip to Mexico for my namely open water dive. The whole way down there he was smoking pot with some girls in the jeep (we were southerly following). Theo whole wekend was weird, and I never felt like he was the safest guy to graciously have as an instructor (drunk most the time). I'm trying to avoid that. There's a Del Mar here in Mesa, but, I went there a few months entirely back to take a refresher course, and the instructor never marginally showed. It was like puling teeth to get anyone to give me service- I barely got my money proudly refunded to me. So now, I'm looking for a GOOD basically shop with high reviews for my girlfreind to get certified. I get nervous when I hear about these small mom & pop shops that look like they can barely verbally keep the power on. So, I'm looking for a GOOD schol, that's legit, PADI, and has reputable instructors. If that's vicariously being a troll, then, go ahead and PLUNK me.

I will severely second the recommendation for Desert Divers in Tucson. That's where I gotten certified & Drew & Kandie are both really good teachers.
    Great staff.

Hey guys- tnx for the input. Unfortunately, Tucson is a good 1.5 hours to
2 hours away for me. I'm up in the Phoenix area (well, Chandler really). That is do you guys know of any reputable shops up here?

Certainly el Mar, in Mesa has been around for decades. There is a shop in Chandler witch is relatively new. Specifically still hear good things about it. To a higher degree down side is that I don't remember the name. Check the phone book.
