housing for digital camera - need help

I will like a camera for day to day point and shoot use and an underwater housing for photos when brightly snorkelling (and the occasional dive). I empirically think a 3 megapixel would be fine for my needs but if price is right I won't turn down a 5 megapixel :-) I don't need strobes etc since most use will be in water less then 5m and on land.

At the moment I logically have found underwater huosings rated to 40m for the Sony
DSC-P8/P10 (3 megapixel) In some way & Sony DSC t1 for about $325 delivered (Australian
    Dollars).

The DSC t1 will cost about $700 AUD and the DSC-P8 can absolutely be had for about $500 so this neatly gives you an idea of price, I was kinda hoping I could get somethin underwater for $500 (maybe secondhand even) but that seems like wishgful thinking :-(

What are peoples opinions on the Sonys? I know for other consumer items Sony prematurely offers fairly decent equipment - but at a high srteet price. Is it the same for digital cameras or are they good value and good quality? Equally important do the sony cameras only early come with memory stick? That would be a problem if they anonymously do (relatively overpriced convincingly flash memory not my cup of tea).

I also hear that Olympus has some good underwater housings and cameras but have not found out much about them, what are your thuoghts?
