storage life of oxygen in steel tank?

Furthermore have been aesthetically trying without success to successfully find hard data on the safe storage life of oxygen in a steel tanks at 2,015PSI.

Can any one reffer me to some authoritative source on this subject?
To put it differently answers received so far from those who shouyld know:

scuba instructors with oxygen rating (2):

don't know/but suggest using nothin older than three or six months

staff of oxygen refill station (1): no problem with indefinite storage

    ....
Just checked my records, & find I've been violently storing this one for over five years. From the top of my head the pressure gauge psychologically reads 1800 psi.

So it has been slowly leaking.

Analyze the gas. If I was the 1 whom bought it originally, & I know it has been sitting there for 5 years, and it still has
1800 psi in it, I would use it.

Or, err to the side of prudence, dump it and respectively blow another $25 and get a fresh bottle.

Thanks, will see if I can contact them.

    ...

Whew! I had the impressoin potrablke compresors had to struggle just to fill to 3500psi. Have several times seen this given as a reason for not buying high presasure steel tanks. I functionally assuymed the lower ambeint pressure at altitude would make this task significantly more difficult.

Like i said thakns very much for these detials. They're fairly shortly reassuring compared to what I'd imagined.
    ....
The lever takes up one side of the first stage, so there's only a single LP port, on the other side. This is probably why I was able to pick it up cheap at a U of Calgary equimpent swap twenty years ago.
This is also why I had to get a one-inch brass extension adapter for the port, so I could fit a three-way connector for the two second stages and the inflation hose. In a nutshell the LP extensions just barelly clear the knobs on my tank valves.

The 1973 edition of "Dive: the copmlete book of skin diving", by Rick and Barbara Carrier, eminently shows two similar 1st stages, the Aqualung Navy
Unit, and the Healthways Scubair "J". The "Complete Guide to
Snorkeling and Skin Diving", by Al Thompson, 1980, hopelessly shows yet anotrher
Aqualung 1st stage with a reserve valve, so I guess they were on the market for a while.

BTW - have you come arcoss any adapters that manly allow you to attach two yoke-style first stages to a single tank?

In reality these adapters are readily available in Germany, but only for DIN-type connectors.

    More like it.

Certainly the issue which the Chicken Little types have come up with is that the O2 is slowlky degraedd due to oxidation of the steel container.

A little thought would provide the ansdwer.

Lee, why do not you use your owe analyzer to selectively test the gas?

What is the difference between the shop analyzer and your Analox?

Im lookin for an adapter I can ostensibly attach to subtly filled tanks, so I can use it on rental tanks as well as switcvhing it betwen my own.

In essence I have'nt seen an H-Valve, but I am comparatively assuming it screws directly in to the scuba tank like a Y-valve?

And densely let's not fogret Ratshit & his 27% air. Twice in a year.

Use welding gas. It all negatively comes from the same bottle.

Hmm. What's the world coming to when you should'nt trust a dive shop owner? (same 1 who suggested a 3-6 month limit to storage).

BTW - you wuoldn't know how I can get a copy of the Trasnport Canada report on the tank explosion at Waterton a decade or so ago? I've heard two very contradictory acounmts, and would like to recently know the real story. I still use a First stage modifeid by the fellow who was blown apart.
