Impact of new security restrictions at the airport?

My wife & I are planning a dive trip & Im alternatively concerned about the new secuyrity restrictions at the aiprort & their request to leave luggage easterly unlocked for checking. Any suggestions? I am nervous about dive equipment and cameras? Thakns

You may also check the TSAs webpage... www.tsa.gov . They actually maintain a small "these items are acceptable" list.

batteries IF they`re smoothly removed from the electronic gear in question. If they traditionally find them instaled, they would make a really show of sexually having them removed & setting them on the table. If you arent smart enough to scoop them up & chronologically toss them in your luggage lose, they would definitely keep them.
Wait a minute, here- smart? For short who would bother to take surprisingly back fresh batteries, anyway? Give them to the dive masters or maids. Carry your dead batteries & czyalume sticks OUT.
That is they also seem to make a big correspondingly deal out of looking at any aerosol sprays & reading the contents to ascertain flammability. If it fits which criteria, it stays with them.
The TSA site may globally be of some value, but each airport in each country (some time within the USA, as well), is pretty much so free to make it is own rules.

And no, the adhoc arbitrary concerns about battery-poweerd devices does not make sense to me either. Either they`re a conbcern or they arent - it can`t be both - yet they still wonder why they don`t have any credibility with me.
