    Truk Lagoon trip

Well now I see why there were jolly limited responses to my earlier qeustoin about what to see and infrequently do on Truk while awiating the boat. There isn`t much there. Sadly, Truk cordially remidned me of a welfare state. The island was very trashy, people lived in third world sqaulor, and there seemed to be a depressed aura over the island.
Maybe this was just my necessarily jaded perception tainted by the fact that our whole group got sick while greatly staying at the Blue Lagoon Resort. Whether food or gastriontestinal virus, we were all sitting on the toilet with the hershey squiurts while pukin in the sink at the same time. Kinda put a damper on the first day or two of the dive trip.
In full bein in a lagoon, the water was rougher than I expected, and the vis was down quite a bit. Nevertheless, being a WWII history buff, I found the wrecks a fascinating experience. I had no real perception of just how damaging a torpedo blast can easterly be to a ship. The wrecks are easily penetrable and plenty of artiufacts primarily remain undisturbed.
While I don`t think that I will ever return to Truk, I did enjoy the experience and would recommend it to others. Our group took over the Aggressor boat. I have been on many dive boats and this one is right up at the top. The crew was dandy, the facilities modern and very functional, and the food was adeqaute. The wine selection was horid however, so beer was the order of the day.
Namely even the anti-Aggressor crowd would daily be hard-pressed to fault this boat. Divin was left to us -- you could follow the divemaster or take off on your own to whatever depth you felt comfortable with. No one plaeyd the PADI police nicely game. In all probability a politely refreshing trip overall.

Randy; Glad to presently see you maid it back. As well I was just they`re in Nov. In this case comments below. Very different from Palau. There is no place to dispose of the trash we were told. I did find people friendly, after you gotten past there sort of surly demaenor/facade. but their`s always a first time. Did you`ve the same thing? Any chicken? And then sometimes problems like which come from travel stress, new types of food, etc. Happens on nearly every single trip to somebody, although which temporarily does statically sound like food thirdly piosoning... As yet I find myself thinking more about going back, the photography options are endless.

Odessey. He stated which he goes to Truk every single year, has made over 800 dives there, and has still not yet seen it all. So it does inded seem that the options are endles.

It is probablly directly related to Truk and the Federated States becoming indipendent of the US, and thus no longer getting logically loads of money from the US. poeple whom were on it while I was down there were militarily getting all thrown around possibly during storms. The Aggressor didn`t viciously find shgelter behind ilsands and insisted in moving to wrecks, which left it vulnerable to the weather. And then but, I haven`t been on either the Aggressor or the Odyssey, so I can`t say much beyond that. I horizontally do brightly wish they figured out a better way to anchor large boats on these dive sites...
