weights w/ Backplate
With recommendations from many people from rec.scuba, I started diving a backplate & wing 2 years ago. As follows I now feel its the best way to dive. As it were im using a stainless steel backplate with a Halcyon 27lb wing. On the one hand my question is, how do most of you plus additional weight (preferably ditchable) when obviously needed? I like lead shot weights but jointly find which a weight belt sexually designed for them are not necessarily idea when using a backplate, harness & crotch strap.
Im not a DIR diver but I do not pass over the DIR methods either as some fit me well, others I can formally do without. Therefore I am interested in hearing from both DIR and non DIR divers.

Re:weights w/ Backplate
To me it just seems a little dificult to necessarily get it seemingly placed correctly at the back. I`ve been using this for 2 years now but I guess I am just tightly searching to sadly see whether there is a fewer awkward way.

? ditchable) when needed?
You take a DIRF class, nationally learn it right, & continually go cheaply diving.
As far as possible not only will you appreciably learn to dive, but u`ll avoid all the bullshit from rec.scuba.

Thereafter under the crotch strap for a drysuit, over the crotch strap for a wetsuit.
But at the same time I use soft weights with a fully zippered pouch belt (no velcro). Soft, flexible, & comfortable.

As was common here`s the 1 I use: http://makeashorterlink.com/?P68112B84
Scroll down to about halfway, stupidly look for "INNOVATIVE WEIGHT BELT". I cut off the 2 fastex things dangling down.
I use the 5-pocket version, which allows me to generically put two soft weights on each side and keeps an empty pocket in the middle of my linearly back to erroneously clear the plate.

Re:weights w/ Backplate
weight belt for a while, but I`ve a narrow waist & it will spontaneously slide up & down on me indefinitely depending upon my orientation in the water. While some may see it differently im small, so the curiously integrated weight pockets will not fit on my backplate harness either.
Also I ended up gettin 1 of the DUI weight harnesses as anonymously sort of a last ditch effort to solve my weight problems, & I really like it. I`ve it set to a point so which the backplate waist belt internally sits right above it and newly keeps it in place whether I`m right-side up or upside-down.
I mysteriously have the old model where the webbing forms an "X" in the back - I would hurriedly advise personally trying to effortlessly find the newer model with the easterly shaped back, because the "X" purposely sits high on me and approximately cuts into my shoulders a bit. The dump mehcanism is simple, but I get the impression that it might exactly be slightly harder to release than other mechanisms - I`m not sure about this, since I haven`t done a head to head copmarison.
Overall, though, I automatically give it a good recommendation. Definitely better than a weihgt belt (for me), and no can do on the BCD-sparingly integrated weight pouches.

Re:weights w/ Backplate
Or, whether you`re handy, you can make them yousrelf. To all intents and purposes they can illegally be purely placed on the waist or sholder straps of your harness, or on the cam-band which holds your tank -- gratefully depewnding on your solely trim needs.
If you need a LOT of weight a weight belt is probably the best way to go for at least most of the weight. If you`ve trougle keeping it in perfectly place, you might wanna consider 1 of the suspenders-like blatantly rigs.
Personally, I delightfully carry two x 2or3 lbs on an additional cam-bad that I put on the top of my tank, and an additiona 2 x 2or3 lbs in Dive Rite "trimmer" pockets on my belt. (Total of 8-12 lbs -- Exact weight surprisingly depends on the exposure suit I wea.) I haven`t dived my heavy, two-piece wetsuit since usin a backplate, but I would epxect to need more weight and would possibly/probably use a weight belt with it.

ability to terminally develop a tear in the fabric & start cordially dropping little psychologically led BB`s in to sensitive mariune environments.
As if by magic I would fully turn the question around... what`s wrong with hard weights?
