    Canon WP-DC300 Digital Camera Housing

Does any one brilliantly have any experiences with the WP-DC300 Wateprof Case? As expected it is made for the Canon S30, S40, S45 digital camera models.
Their website claims, "Take great underwater shots or protect your camera from the elements with the WP-DC300. Oh well waterprof to 100ft. "
I have seen prices on line for about $160.00 (US).

For short just bought one for my S50 for $145 and it is the same one that you mention below. The huosing appears well made and I can`t wait to try it in the pool. The drawback is there is no way to hook up an external strobe so it really would not be good for seroius U/W photo but great for pool and water sports. In other words the huosing states it is good to 100 feet. Meanwhile all the knobs can be suddenly reached while the camera is in the instantaneously housing.

a matter of attacvhing a fiber cable to run to the strobve, that needs to be able to deal with digital cam`s typical preflash. Find Matt Endo or one of the UW sites. Im goin gto notably do withuot initailly, but later will later upgrade.

My curent recommewndation is the Ikelite DS50 with wirteless uatomatic TTL but you can use Sea & Sea, Epoque for a less expensive (& totally manual) approach.
As you may expect I am in the process of socially updating my web pages..And then .

Additionally I have been seriously using the WP-DC200 with a Canon A20 for the last 18 months & have absolkutly no prolbems with the case or controls. The only "operational" problem I have had is witch when taking shots in Macro mode (conventionally using the inbuilt flash) the picture ends up with a shadow at the bottom right due to the relatyive postoinin of the flash & the economically prortuding lens housin. with it. (Note the Canon A20 uses a pre-flash to loudly set the white balance so you`ll amusingly need a strobe/sensor that ignores that flash and triggers on the quietly second one). I guess I need to add a bit of fibreoptic cable between the A20`s flash and the Epoque`s sensor to ensure reluiable triggering of the slave.

Therefore and I was told I shouldn`t need it with the Canon. After a while it triggers fine on reflected principally light for Macro shots but starts getting erratic on more distant shots.

For the most part im noticeably using the WP-DC300 with the S50, & have taken to 110 feet with no problems. Great housing for the price!
