Site pictures
Hey Sharky!
How's about losing the generic board pictures in the top corner and putting some underwater or dive related pics instead. Even pictures of dive gear would be a lot more appropriate than the creepy guy and his gramma!

Ray, I agree. I would like you to help me though since lately I am in desperate need of time (due to work) - Could you please indicate to me which photos that exist in the photo album you think are appropriate to stay and which are not?
I will, accordingely, delete the in-appropriate photos.
Thank you in advance.

It isn't the photo album I am talking about. Most of those pictures are fine.
It is the site pictures in the upper left corner that are random pictures of people hugging each other. Like right now, there is a Mom and her kid in the water ... almost appropriate. When I reload the page, I get two boys or a guy and two girls or any number of "cute" couples. Kind of nice for a touchy feeling kind of site, but not quite right for a dive board.
It appears that there are 7 different versions that are randomly selected:
http://www.scubadivetalks.com/templates/namibia_css/images/bg_01_01.jpg through bg_01_07.jpg so it would take seven different pictures to use in place.
I will take a little photoshop work, but I kind of wanna see a Manta or school of fish with a diver in the distance or something like that. Of course, I would really like to see one of my compressors but ...

Ahhhhhhhhh
I got it. You mean the template thing. The background so to speak.
I will ask if it is possible to change it.
If you or anyone is interested in supplying photos and getting it up there please let me know.

Post edited by: sharky, at: 2009/07/25 16:29

Re:Site pictures
You have some really cool pictures in the photo album right now that would be great! How's about just posting a note that you would like people to vote on their favorites and use them? I really like the blue hole, shark and of course the manatee!
Putting it up will require someone that is good with photoshop and also someone that has access to the ftp to find where these files are stored so that the can be uploaded since it most likely isn't automatic.

Re:Site pictures
Ray I have been told by softwareman that one needs a psd file in order to replace the photos. I am technically not knowledgeable enough to understand how to obtain a psd file and change it.
Do you have any idea if you or someone you know own a psd file? Because if so he could change the background with it

Re:Site pictures
It's actually pretty easy for someone that has photoshop. Just break the parts of the picture into layers and then you just change the portrait layer. I have done a quick test one with an image that I just found and it is at http://www.rayzplace.com/test.jpg.
I can send you my psd if you want and then you can just paint in whatever images you want. Mind you, that test picture is just a sample and will be taken down pretty soon unless I can find the owner and get permission to use it.
