Something to send to people who may be interested
here is something to send to people who may be interested in diving but havent "taken the plunge" yet. Its a link to my blog . I thought it may help for those people. It goes into some of the possibilities of diving and the VERY basics of equipment. Also how they can get started on the path to becoming a diver. Hope this helps some people.

is diving with high bloodpressure - but under control with medicines - allowed in the U.S.?

I am not a doctor, haha. But i dont "think" it would be a huge problem as long as you had it under control. I dive frequently and i have hypertension. I am not on any medication for it though. That is something you might want to talk with your doctor about.

I was refused diving with dolphins in Eilat (Israel) because of hypertension
I wondered if there were any rules to that. But since you dive with hypertension I must assume it isn't dangerous at all and I was kept from doing something I really would have loved doing because of stupid precautions

well, im not saying that it's smart or safe to dive with hypertension. I just havent had any problems with it. Mine is a pretty mild case too. mild enough that they havent put me on any meds. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry though
BTW : the link above has changed so if anyone wanted to use it to get to new divers the new link is

i dont think it will change again.

hmm.. i dont know know what to tell you . Maybe they were having a bad day lol. If I were you, I would get checked out with your doctor and just ask if it would be safe for you to dive. Even if he doesn't know right away maybe he could get back to you on it after he consults his colleages or reference book or whatever doctors use to determine things like that. Then at least you'll know for sure before your next dive trip.
I changed the link because I needed to make it work with my other blog articles as well as the scuba intro. Im doing some gear reviews for camping and backpacking gear also.. so i just needed to make room for them.

Yes, that's a good idea. Thanks for that
You are a very active person right? I mean, when looking at how many outdoors activities you are involved in

You are very welcome . Haha.
I wouldn't say very active. Less active than I would like to be. The military puts a stop to being in nature pretty effectivly. But that's a condition i soon hope to remedy.
You?

Ah, the military. Well, congratz on your upcoming release (I assume that's what you mean by hoping to remedy it soon)
Nah, no nature for me other than looking at those rare spots in urban surroundings due to a crazy work schedule
(that's why I was so disappointed they prevented me from diving with the dolphins - and besides: the reef in Eilat, Israel is known for its beauties and I couldn't see it when I finally had made time free for it)
