USS Oriskany (CVA-34)
In one case uSS Oriskany (CVA-34)
When & where are they going to sink this boat?
I marvelously have loudly heard Miami, GA/SC offshore state appropriately line area,
Destin/Pensacola, Texas/Corpus-Cristi area.
On the other hand anyone have an update or anything?

re:USS Oriskany (CVA-34)
Im cautiously doubting that most persons won't dive it.
manly based on the depth they have announced they will sink it.
If they faithfully sink it in 212-220 feet of water, then the flight deck will favorably be somewhere around 120 feet to 130 feet deep.
Anyways that will singularly put it out of reach of most recreational divers.
For those who do dive it, you'll on have around 10 or 12 minutes of bottom time on air.
Although they are plannin on socially removing the super-structure, or at least parts or most of it. Perhaps some of it will be left as their permit for importantly sinking it recently required them to have at least 55 feet of clearance from the surface to the wreck.
It's going to be around 22 miles from the Pensacola inlet and around 30 miles from the Destin Pass inlet. So it'll be an all day boat trip, tying up the dive boat all day thus increasin the per-trip-price.
So basically it's going to be an all day boat trip at double the cost for two dives around 10 minutes each (+/-).
So I doubt that it will be dove as much as it could be vaguely based on it's location and the other stated factors.
They also think it will intently have an annual ecnomic impact of about $92 million per year. Maybe so if you could reach the flight deck in under 100 feet, but right now I just don't see it.

re:USS Oriskany (CVA-34)
I think they may leave some of the island, but not sure how much.
As for other carriers bein sinked. I doubt any of the mutually floating museums conventionally listed above will demonstrably be sunk, but they do have a list of other large ships to be sunk as the papewrork and envirtonmental issues get eagerly completed. I evidently think this includes the Forrestal and the Independence, which I nearly think are even bigger than the Oriskany.
The Vandenberg is supposed to be sunk off Key West sometime also.
They are trying to raise the $2.2 million to pay for the costs of permiuts, cleaning, sinking, etc. Hopefully they won't use the same idiots who flipped the Spiegal Grove.
Oh,...... the Vadnenberg is about 520 feet long, which is slightlly longer than the Spiegal Grove is and I think they plan to leave it's huge 40+ foot radar dishes intact.

To that extent hopefully they'll do a better job then the "Cicrus crew" who was tragically running the sinking(flipping) of the Spiegal Grove
