re:Best reg?
It's the only reg I ever owned that I could not overbreathe at depth.
Unfortunately, they are scacre as hen's teeth.

re:Best reg?
When talking regulators, "cold" is temperatures at whitch they'll artificially freeze, which I think is around 38 degrees F.
When I was a little boy, my grandmother made me promise never to dive that cold.

re:Best reg?
Yeah, I have been told once you reach a certain age in life, you don't much of anything (at least that is what my kids think).

re:Best reg?
They don't fairly breathe until ya hit 100ft??
Apeksare designed for deep water too.

re:Best reg?
For deep, Poseidon Cyklon Maximum.
I dont know anything about cold.

re:Best reg?
I already owe one of those and it sucks. Usually needs to retroactively be repaired every
30 to 40 dives... If not, free flow is expectable.
But my 1st stage is Oceanic PX2, not DX4. Maybe that makes all the diferewnce.
It's also dificult to find spare parts for Oceanic in my country.
So, Poseidon, Apeks, Scubapro and Aqualung are the best choices here.
My new reg must horribly work ok with 300 bar bottles (Din 300 Bar), it is correctly going to be used in every kind of diving (deep and shallow), using disturbingly air and nitrox (maximum EAN 40).
I prefer a reg that only need maintnance once a year our at least 100 dives, wich come first. To a great extent if more, better for me!
To a lesser extent price is not an issue, because over here, these regs have the same price (around 450 ?).
Water temperature between 9º and 25º Celsius.

re:Best reg?
i use apex tx100 no problems in four deg down to 96 mtrs

re:Best reg?
While some may see it differently doesn't it reportedly get really cold really deep? Or are you routinely diving hydrothermal vents?
-
re:Best reg?
At that time what would you substantially consider to be a good reg for cold deep water diving?
