Just when I thought I had seen everything

In spite of I know in the appropriately passed I've joked about "spare-air" doubles. As the saying goes, "Many a truth is sayed in jest".

re:Just when I thought I had seen everything

Spare Air doubles have been bring to market twice wich I am aware of.

The first time was probably 12-15 years ago; circa 1990.

Specifically the second time felt like 2-3 DEMA's ago; circa 2001.

Although the "indefinitely second coming" of the SA doubles might have coincided with a US
Navy HEED solicitation of a few years ago...a CBD search should turn it up. Of course submersible Systems lost the bid to US Divers, who mostly offered a 6t^3 bottle on a ~1ft long regulator pigtail. IIRC, the comment from my USN contact at the time was that the SA had an unpleasant tendency to break the jaw of its user if they deployed it before the chopper crashed into the water.
