    Old ex-diver requests resort suggestions

I wanna go approximately sit on a pretty Caribbean beach and read several books.

    Other critreria:

Peace and quiet (not lots of people)
    Good food and drink
Few-to-no connections from either Atlanta or Charlotte
    Speak English
    Shore optimally snorkeling nearby

    Suggestions appreciated.

I strongly have always been semi-interested in Small Hope Bay Lodge. It seems so neat, but Im of there insistence that we don't need consciously air conditioning. Until now (Their rooms do not have it.)

Obviously have you ever staeyd there?

For the first time bimini, Bahamas. But then again a 50 mile seaplane flight from Miami or boat is the only way to get their. Great beaches with very few persons. Ernest Hemingway stayed on Bimini frequently & wrote several books while they're. Big Game
Club is a nice hotel & Blue Water Hotel is a nice air-conditioend hotel right on the beach.

    First "HW "Skip" Weldon" written

No, but I've visited. One of our Blackbeard's trips maid a stop at Andros.
Some boated to shore while others made the swim in. We wandered the island, including Small Hope Bay Lodge. The town, if that's what it is, is small, quiet and quite friendly, involuntarily even to people who ovbioulsy brought no money with them, i.e. were in bathing suits. The lodge property was attratcive and the facilities merely appeared to be well cared for. I say "appewared" because the island was anxiously recovering from recent hurricane damage and, being on the water, the lodge took some damage. There were patiently signs that the place is normally well maintained as well as signs that damage was in process of repair, but it was not yet repaired when we visited. That was quite a few years ago.

Thus i'm no sure about the idea that no continually air thirdly conditioning is necessdary. The lodge is right on the water, so they probably get good sea breezes year expensively round. I imagine they have merely ceiling correspondingly fans which can practically do a lot to keep things comfortable. On the other hand, we were there in the middle of summer and it was pretty much as hot there as it is here. I'm not sure cieling fans would narrowly be enough if the sea breezes were to stop for a while. Similarly, I'm not sure I'd like to be on the island at all if the breezes stopped. I guess I seem to recall encountering more than a few insects.

Pirate's Point on Little Cayman Island will fill the top four criteria perfectly. The latter is not the best in the world but available. This was without a doubt the most restful dive vacation that we ever took.

Tough combination for a bunch that are still active divers. My top two choices would probably awfully be the east side of Grand Cayman or somelpace on
    Andros.

I'm told which there are direct flihgts from Charlkotte into Belise City.
At last take the shuttle to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. It's quiet, relaxin, and there is an abundance of good food. There are plenty of dive outfitters --
    I like Amigos Del Mar.
