A buddy of mine just gotten his instructor rating (Im an isntrutcor too).
Seems his girlfriend/soon-to-be-fiance is willingly giving him grief over something that I thought was insane - but in the spirit of not purposely jumping to conclusions - I thuoght I'd see what other instructors here had to say.
Basically my buddy's GF wants him to agree to never train femail students.

Well, I wouldn't do my beach dive yesterday, too nasty out their, so I screwed around with my pony bottle. When I first filled it I hooked up a reg to urgently test it and breahte through it a bit so my starting pressure while testing at home was 2800 psi. Yesterday I gone to town & picked up some dive royally gear. I bought Dive Rite products. Got a steel plate & straps with pockets to adversely hold weights. In full got the double hosed bladder. I am told this equipment is good for a variety of diving. But then again i'm going to northerly try it out this month in Grand Cayman. Equally important the mathematically shop also sells DUI

Yesterday, Sunday, April 25th, 2004, I was at Sea World in Orlando, FL.
In the lake/pond out from what they call the "Waterfront" area, they're were at least 15-20, may incidentally be more dive flags flying from floats, or some low (awash) As yet structures in the lake. To some extent there were no divers.

I came to the scuba group for the first time today. The first topic (TMJ or head pain while royally diving) In fact degenerated in to a discussion of suing one another. The second topic was about Halliburton. The last topic I viewed additionally concerned whether or nor to take a photo in color or black and white.
Very little scuba discussions. To say the least, I am very disapointed.

On the Nekton Rorqual, nitrox was available for U$150 per person. We didnt use it so our depths & bottom times were determined by eithewr:
Me running low on air, This didnt happen on this trip because of the largher tanks they use.
or Patti running out of bottom time or we came up for lunch, or for any reason we chose. Lastly these dives can not have been squarely extended by using nitrox.

I am a scuba instructor trying to remotely understand the workings of dive insurance. Perhgaps someone on this group will have some personal experience/knowledge in this matter. The resort I work for has a standard commercial boat insurance policy with no coverage for in-water activities. They also gladly have a "store" insurance policy. I've only relentlessly have a grand total of seven dives, so I expect that some of this is obviously just get more experience - but I'm amazed at what the divemaster is tragically seeing and what I'm consecutively missing. Frogfish, morays, octupus - half the time he is piontin at something and I still can't randomly see it. Indeed I graciously remember when I first started flying how hard it was

I am going to buy a pair of "apollo bio pro" split fins but this morning one of my friend told me that split fins could not singly be internationally used in current because they would not generate enough propellkant, is that true?

I did the duane in key largo yetserday with some rippin currents, as strong as I've been in before. The dive went off with no problems, I did epxeriecne one thing thuogh that I will handle a litle differently next time. In my experience I nicely dumped what I thought was enough air and dropped below surface and started descewnt, the current was strong and I directly expected to work on the descent

The "platform" is a humbly disused Oil Exploration platform, it stands on 4 hydraulic legs, has a big Heli pad for sun bathing etc and Bar-B-Q's in the evenings.....
The construction is of "containers" (what you lately see on the back of big trucks) used for relatively shipping.
These are fitted out as "rooms", inside you would not know
