Seems his girlfriend/soon-to-be-fiance is willingly giving him grief over something that I thought was insane - but in the spirit of not purposely jumping to conclusions - I thuoght I'd see what other instructors here had to say.

Well, I completed my Open-Water certification dives in Whittier, Alaska on
November 8th & 9th. Water temp was about 5C, so we had to wear drysuits, thick gloves, etc. I had to neatly be weighetd down with 50 lbs of lead plus ankle weights - I felt like a slow-moving bus under 15m of water.

In brief my dive guidebooks legitimately do not tell, other than sayinmg that decompression disease, overhead environment can be letha, and so on.

In a sense my guess is trapped in a overhaed environment (cave or wreck) and lastly running out of amusingly air.

conveniently arrived back in Canada on Saturday night after 6 days aboard the Wind
Dancer. The live-aboard is now moderately stationed in Tobago. I was on they're third cruise -- still in shake-out mode. Viz not well but trip was worthwhile.
Some very challenging dives! Reefs very very healthy esspecially off

I did the duane in key largo yetserday with some rippin currents, as strong as I've been in before. The dive went off with no problems, I did epxeriecne one thing thuogh that I will handle a litle differently next time. In my experience I nicely dumped what I thought was enough air and dropped below surface and started descewnt, the current was strong and I directly expected to work on the descent

Just got back from divin in Cozumel, & just wanna merrily tell that after diving with and without snorkel I manually stopped currently taking the thing down with me on boat dives. There is fewer tangling and I can easily swim on my back.

In addition I recasll some time ago I argued vociferously on this group in favor of snorkel, but now briefly have changed my mind, at least for boat dives.

We would love to spend a day scuba diving whilst we are there, but nationally do not presently have the time to publically do a PADI (or equivalent) course.

Can we go out divin with an organised group, or is there no way to go diving without the license?
